Start here

Four steps. This is all you need for your first edit.

1

Get Claude Pro

Around $20 a month. Prices change, so check the pricing page before you buy.

2

Open the Code tab

Open the Claude app and pick Code at the top, not Chat. Code is where Claude can work on files on your computer.

3

Install HyperFrames

HyperFrames is the free tool that actually edits the video. Ask Claude to set it up. Say yes every time it asks for permission.

Paste this in Claude Code
Please download and install HyperFrames for me. It is open source from heygen-com/hyperframes on GitHub. Add its plugin marketplace, install the hyperframes plugin, and tell me when it is ready.
ImportantWhen it says it is done, start a new chat. Claude only loads the new tool in a fresh chat.
4

Give it your raw video

Do your cuts and pauses first. Claude adds the captions, motion and sound effects on top. Tell it where the file is and share an edit you love, so it knows your style.

Paste this, then fill the brackets
Edit my reel with HyperFrames. My video is here: [folder or file path]. Do not change my cuts. Add word-by-word captions, text highlights on the key ideas, a slow zoom, and soft sound effects. Here is an edit I love for the style: [paste a link or drop an image].

Drop your own screenshots or images into the same folder if you want proof on screen.

Next level

Do this once you have an edit you like.

5

Make a few versions

Here is what most people miss. Do not stop at version one. Ask for a few different looks and pick the one that feels like you.

Paste this
Make 3 different versions of this edit. Change the caption style and the motion each time. Save each one as its own file and tell me what is different.
6

Save it as a skill

Found the one you like? Tell Claude to remember it. Next time you only say "use my edit style" and it does the whole thing.

Paste this
I love version [number]. Save this edit style as a skill called [my-reel-edit-style] so you can use it on every video from now on.

If it goes wrong

Claude keeps asking permission

Say yes. It needs permission to install tools and to open your video.

HyperFrames is not showing up

Start a new chat. Claude only loads a new tool in a fresh chat.

It cannot find your video

Paste the full path of the file, for example the folder name and the file name.

The edit is not what you wanted

Say exactly what to change, or ask for 3 new versions and pick one.

Copy my starter skill

Do not have a favorite version yet? Start from this template. Paste it in Claude Code, fill the yellow brackets, and say "save this as a skill".

# My reel edit style

## Before you start
- My cuts and pauses are already done. Never change my cuts or my audio.
- Ask me for the video file path, my script if I have one, and any images I want on screen.
- Use HyperFrames for everything. Transcribe the video first so every graphic lands on the right word.

## Look
- Format: vertical 1080x1920, 30 fps.
- Fonts: [headline font] for big text, Inter for everything else.
- Colors: background [#hex], text [#hex], accent [#hex], highlight [#hex].
- Keep it simple. One idea per card.

## Captions
- Word-by-word, 3 to 4 words at a time, in the lower third of the screen.
- White text with a dark outline. The word I am saying turns [highlight color].

## Motion
- Slow zoom in and out on me, never more than 8 percent.
- Cards pop in with a small bounce and leave with a quick fade.
- Show a card only when I say the matching idea: a number, a tool name, a step.

## Sound effects
- Soft whoosh when a card appears, a small pop on highlights.
- Keep every effect much quieter than my voice.

## Rules
- Never cover my face with graphics.
- Check a few preview frames before the final render.
- Render an MP4 and tell me exactly where the file is.
